Texas poker

Texas poker is played in most casinos of Europe and the US. It is considered the most popular variation of poker in the world. Though at the WSOP (World Series of Poker) different poker games are played, it is the Texas poker finals winner, who receives the main prize. Texas poker is played by six to ten people.

For playing Texas poker a special table is needed. It should have a round rotating discus in the middle (button). The person to the left from the dealer should be the first to bet ever before the cards are dealt. The bet should be small blind. And the next person to bet should place the big blind. Than the dealer deals each player two cards face down. Than the betting begins. In Texas poker the betting is performed clockwise. At this point each of the players should make a decision whether to fold, call, raise or check. After all the betting is done, three cards face up are put on the middle of the table (flop). They are community cards, they belong to everybody at the table. Than the betting starts again. Than one more card is dealt (in Texas poker it is called turn or fourth street), followed by yet one more rounnd of betting. Than it s the turn for the fifth card (in Texas poker this card is referred to as river or fifth street). After the last round of bets the cards are compared and the winner receives his prize.
